I have many kids in my class this year, and I want to incorporate more movement and choice into my classroom. Flexible seating provides that. It allows students to become more engaged and independent in school. They feel empowered when they choose the best place for them to learn, by picking their seat each day. The Wobble chairs and and balance balls give the chance for students, especially those with ADHD and ADD, to fidget, wiggle, and stretch in different directions, while being able to focus and work on the lessons. This helps children get physical activity through the day and optimizes learning in the classroom. My goal with these supplies is to provide each student a relaxed environment that is beneficial to their success, and helps them be able to be independent problem solvers. Flexible seating builds a sense of community by letting them work together and collaborate in new ways every day. They get to make a smart decision about what works best for them, and learn to work with the people around them. These materials will allow the freedom to move and wiggle while they work.
