There were many students who began loving art, and others whose art interests have opened up.\r\n\r\nOur first project was using the acrylic paints and following step by step instructions online. Students experienced blending colors, using water to soften colors, and used various sizes of brushes. The scene was a beach/palm trees at sunset/sunrise. For some, it was a lesson in patience, as well.\r\n\r\nThe second project was geometric art. We tied this to early cultural methods. Students enjoyed using \"real\" canvas. They could not wait to take home their art to share with their families.\r\n\r\nRecently, as our school celebrated Native American Heritage month, students researched the significance of animals in the Native American art. Currently, the pieces are on display in our hallway. Students look forward to our next project!","fullyFundedDate":1757423993371,"projectUrl":"project/art-knows-no-bounds/9514028/","projectTitle":"Art Knows No Bounds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. W.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1147818"},{"teacherId":4277019,"projectId":9094583,"letterContent":"With your help, our classroom now has many different fidgets for sensory toys. With so many of our students having different sensory issues, it is wonderful to have a wide variety of sensory toys for them to play with throughout the day. Sensory plays a significant part in a child's development, enhancing various aspects of their cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth. Social-emotional skills profoundly and positively impact child development, affecting various aspects of their lives. These skills are developed very early in life, including emotional regulation, self-awareness, and social competence. These skills are all crucial for academic achievement, mental well-being, and building positive relationships with others. \r\nLearning is a lot of fun, especially when you can make cookies by sorting shapes, count by ice cream scoops, and stack by colors. Pretend play can be exciting when you have fun ways to explore. I cannot express enough gratitude for your support. Without donors like you, our classroom developmental accomplishments would not be possible. There are so many ways your involvement has directly contributed to transforming lives and fostering a stronger, healthier community within our classroom and school.
