What was your favorite subject growing up in elementary school? My most vivid memories are of times when I made something with my own hands. With all the demands for technology-related skills in the world today, science and math are an important part of student learning. Having hands-on STEM materials will help my students think and problem solve. My students are full of energy, enthusiastic, and are eager to learn. When it comes to learning, they enjoy science and math that they can see and manipulate much more than reading or writing that is boring. They come from various diverse cultures, speak different languages, and many of their families are struggling economically. The school they attend is in a high poverty area of the state of Washington. It is culturally diverse with over 80% of the students receiving free or reduced price lunch and over 40% English Language Learners.
