My students struggle to read and these magazines offer current topics at a lower reading level.\r\n One of my classes that struggles with oral reading, recently read a play about a female WWIi pilot. Each student participated in reading, and most seemed to enjoy the opportunity. The students grew in reading skills, confidence, and knowledge about the role of women in this time period. \r\n In another class, we read an article about the formation of the islands of the Maldives. The students were able to connect with classroom material in science.
