Help me to build a class library that will help reach resistant readers. I chose books that would specifically capture the interest of my students, while building confidence in reading. I plan to incorporate "First Chapter Fridays" to introduce each one of these books, in the hopes it will capture the interest of a student who can make it their own book. Having a class library with a diverse choice of books will help my students realize that reading is fun! As a Special Education Reading Teacher, I use strategies to help my students improve fluency and comprehension, but if I don't ignite a desire for them to read on their own, their success is limited.
