The first class to see the donation was my Tenor Bass choir-picture a room of 11-13 year old boys who are not only talented, but excited to be in choir. That is rare! We were discussing details for our upcoming concert on December 10th. I told them if they did not have dress shoes, they could borrow some from the choir room. They were shocked at how many shoes there were available to borrow, as well as the variety of sizes!\r\n\r\nMy students use these shoes to fill a gap many of them have but are embarrassed to admit-limited financial resources and access to affordable, new, clean clothes, specifically dress clothes. Though this is the norm in our community, the students have a level of pride that is present at any school. So, if they are unable to provide their own dress shoes, they can find comfort in knowing there are back up shoes available. This not only takes a stress off the family, but lets the students feel proud of themselves. If they have dress shoes to match their choir uniform, they will feel confident and ready to sing. I believe strongly that all students have the right to feel proud of and connected to an activity outside of their core classes. \r\n\r\nThe next steps in our choir room are to prepare for FWISD Choral Benchmarks and Region 30 UIL. This is the most formal and high-stakes event all year. It is imperative that all students are dressed appropriately here as well, so we will get a lot of use out of the shoes. Students are working hard to sight read, master their solfege hand signs, sing in parts, and demonstrate professional stage etiquette.","fullyFundedDate":1758302126673,"projectUrl":"project/dress-shoes-for-our-choir/9574257/","projectTitle":"Dress Shoes for Our Choir","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stephens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10168647"},{"teacherId":9484741,"projectId":9561107,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for supporting my classroom through your generous contributions. Your donation made a real and meaningful difference for my students, and I want to share the impact with you.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students now have access to snacks, which has helped them stay focused and engaged throughout the day. Many students come to school hungry or without anything to hold them over until lunchtime, and it is very hard for a child to learn on an empty stomach. Having snacks available means they can refuel, refocus, and re-enter the lesson ready to learn — and that has truly changed the atmosphere in our classroom.\r\n\r\nYour donation also provided us with a classroom printer, which has been a blessing. Instead of having to leave the classroom, stand in line, or hope a copier isn't jammed or out of service, I can now quickly print materials, assignments, and resources on the spot. This allows me to respond immediately to students' needs and gives them the tools they need right away. It has saved so much time and has kept instructional momentum strong.\r\n\r\nYou also helped supply us with basic classroom necessities like erasers, glue, and pencils. These items might seem small, but they are essential for learning. Many of my students' families are not always able to afford school supplies, and students often feel embarrassed or discouraged when they don't have what they need. Your generosity removed that barrier. Now, every student can participate fully without worrying about whether they have the right materials.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has brought relief, comfort, confidence, and joy into our classroom. My students feel supported, seen, and cared for — and that is because of you.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in their success and for believing in the power of education.
