The fiberoptic lights added a calming ambiance to our classroom for students to be able to enter a relacing environment. The reversable sequin mat allowed for opportunities for students to engage with peers and meet sensory needs. \r\n\r\nThe items have began our classroom transformation into a sensory friendly environment. Our students demonstrate feelings of happiness by smiling/laughing and stating they like them while using the items and sharing the space with peers.\r\n\r\nWe thank our donors for their generosity and will continue to reach out to Donors Choose to continue providing this most needed space for our students. Their engagement in reading during library class has increased, and they love having materials that meet their sensory needs. \r\n\r\nThese books have been reinforced, and we have glued in sensory objects that go with the book or story being read so that our students can feel and touch as they listen and engage fully with each book.
