Your donation is opening the door to hands-on exploration for students who rarely get opportunities like these. Because of you, our young scientists are discovering that science is not only educational—it's exciting, empowering, and truly fun.\r\n\r\nRecently, the students had an absolute blast launching film canister rockets. What started as a simple activity quickly grew into a full investigation: they experimented with different variables, made predictions, tested hypotheses, and eagerly compared results. It was incredible to watch them dive into the science behind each launch—all with huge smiles on their faces.\r\n\r\nAnd thanks to your contribution, this excitement is only the beginning. In the coming weeks, students will be exploring a wide variety of hands-on investigations, including:\r\n\r\ncreating colorful tie-dye patterns while learning about chemical reactions and diffusion,\r\n\r\nbuilding a hot air balloon to understand density and temperature,\r\n\r\nfiltering water as they explore environmental science and engineering,\r\n\r\nmaking slime to study polymers,\r\n\r\npowering circuits with lemon batteries,\r\n\r\ngrowing biological cultures to learn about microorganisms,\r\n\r\ndiscovering the chemistry behind magic non-popping balloons, and\r\n\r\ncausing exciting reactions with baking soda and vinegar balloon smashes.\r\n\r\nThese activities don't just teach science—they build problem-solving skills, ignite curiosity, and give students the confidence to explore the world around them. Many of our students come from underserved backgrounds, and opportunities like these help them see themselves as capable innovators and future scientists.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made all of this possible, and we are deeply grateful. There has also been a positive shift in class. Students are now more engaged and focused. Each student also received a medal from our administrators after receiving their certificates. It was a beautiful and emotional moment.\r\n\r\nDuring the rehearsal, when the students first saw the goodie bags and medals, their faces lit up with excitement and pride. For many of them, this was the very first time they had received a medal, and it meant the world. I saw students proudly wearing their medals all day, taking pictures with friends and family, and sharing smiles and even tears of joy. It was truly moving to witness.\r\n\r\nIn all my years at this school, this was the first time we were able to do something so special for every student. The medals and goodie bags symbolized more than just a celebration—they represented recognition, encouragement, and the belief that they are seen and valued.\r\n\r\nAs we close out the year, the next steps for these students are to carry this moment of recognition with them as they step into high school with confidence.
