The new headphones allow students to independently listen and learn on their devices, while the chair bands give my little learners a quiet way to move their bodies and stay focused during lessons.\r\nThe other resources have helped our classroom run more smoothly each day. Our new line-up spots give students a clear, visual place to stand and help make transitions much easier for young learners. The Velcro dots are being used throughout the classroom for interactive learning materials and visuals, and the storage containers are helping us keep our classroom materials organized and easy for students to access independently.\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will be used again and again as my students strengthen their early reading, writing, independence, and classroom routines. They immediately wanted to look through the different titles and find books they could read. It was wonderful to see students proudly choosing books and saying things like, \"I can read this one!\" For many of my students, having a book they can successfully read on their own is a huge confidence boost. They were especially excited to learn that they could borrow a book and take it home to share with their families.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful moments has been watching students become more confident as they reread familiar books. They are beginning to recognize words more quickly, use their phonics skills to decode unfamiliar words, and read with greater fluency and expression. The books have also created opportunities for students to celebrate their progress and feel proud of themselves as readers.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building a strong reading routine at school and at home. Students will continue borrowing books, practicing their reading, and returning for new books as they grow. We will encourage students to reread books to build fluency while also challenging themselves to try books with new words and sounds.
