Some students benefit most from visual supports, while others need movement and sensory input to stay focused and engaged. Because of this, the bouncy ball seats have been one of the biggest sources of excitement. Students love being able to move and balance their core while learning. One student saw the seats for the first time and immediately said, \"This is exactly what the speech room needed!\" Even now, students continue to show tremendous excitement about the new visual supports and other resources.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also made a meaningful difference beyond the speech room. A visual schedule was created for one student to help support their transition into the school year. On the first day of school, the student's mother was crying and expressing how thankful she was for the visual schedule because it had greatly reduced her child's challenging behaviors. Other resources are helping students build expressive language skills, while the games provide fun, motivating rewards after students complete their speech and language work. Motivation is 50% of the battle, and these supplies have made a tremendous impact on the students on my caseload. They come into the speech room smiling, excited, and ready to learn. I am so grateful to our donors for helping create a speech room where students feel motivated, successful, and excited to do their best.","fullyFundedDate":1771353778406,"projectUrl":"project/touch-see-speak-succeed/10081939/","projectTitle":"Touch, See, Speak, Succeed","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coffey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10428121_orig.jpg?crop=244,244,x0,y26&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770173609917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10428121"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75339","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":717,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.2,"schoolId":75339,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Diamond Canyon School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Diamond Canyon School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/deer-valley-unified-school-district/diamond-canyon-school/75339"}
