Our scholars are trying to gain Dream Dollars everyday so that they can reach for the prizes that they want to spend on. We award Dream Dollars to scholars that are going above and beyond, scholars that are following directions and not afraid to take academic risk. Our Dream Store is also teaching our scholars financial literacy as they see their balance go down as they buy items or they save up for bigger prizes. Walking into our classrooms you see the investment of the store as when teachers mention Dream Dollars you see the shift in the scholars trying their best to get noticed. \r\n\r\nAfter receiving all of our materials scholars were able to tour the school store to see what was in stock and they were all excited. Throughout the day you heard scholars mentioning which items they were aiming for and how they were going to earn the required Dream Dollars to purchase. As we move forward we look to capitalize on the positive momentum of the dream store and build school wide initiatives like the Dream Parties and Dream Trips. We want our Dream Dollars to continue investing our scholars to be their best for short term and long term goals. Attendance is a big push for us so scholars know they receive Dream Dollars just for coming to school on time and in full uniform. Without a strong school store we could lose the investment from scholars and having these items give them something to shoot for. Scholars look forward to shopping every Friday and will constantly ask me and remind me what they want and that is all thanks to your contributions.
