My students were so excited when we opened up the box and they were told they were going to be able to create their own kindness rock to keep, share with somebody else or leave around our school community for someone to find. They all wrote a saying or a quote that they would like to find themselves for encouragement. \r\nMy students really took ownership of this project and really demonstrated the character education traits of tolerance, empathy and citizenship. This was such a wonderful project. Having the Deep Space Sparkle membership is a great resource for my students and I as it includes many resources, national art standards, I can statements, color photographs and follow along steps, videos, and read aloud books that my students can use when they explore various lessons. My students are learning about the elements of art and the principles of design through having this resource. \r\nCurrently, we are creating full portraits, and my students are thoroughly enjoying drawing and painting this lesson while using real fall leaves during the process. The monitor allows students to clearly see digital reading materials, instructional activities, fluency practice, and other resources while I work alongside them.\r\n\r\nWhat is especially exciting is how much more engaging technology can make literacy practice. Students are able to interact with texts and activities on a larger, clearer screen, making it easier for them to follow along, participate, and take ownership of their learning. The monitor also allows me to efficiently display materials while working directly with students rather than having to share a small screen.\r\n\r\nStudents who may initially be hesitant about reading often become more engaged when technology is incorporated into their learning. The monitor has helped create a more inviting and interactive learning environment where students feel supported and excited to participate. Most importantly, this simple donation is helping me provide more focused, engaging, and effective literacy instruction to students who need additional support.
