We've also used the novel's foundation in Greek mythology to uncover Greek and Latin roots, helping students build academic vocabulary that strengthens their reading confidence across all of their classes.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active, collaborative, and highly visual. Rather than working quietly in isolation, students use dry-erase paddles to quickly sketch scene predictions, map out plot twists, and answer analytical questions in real time. We use structured literary frameworks to dissect Percy's choices, debate character motivations in small groups, and make connections between ancient myths and modern storytelling. The room feels vibrant and energizing, with every student actively participating in the conversation.\r\n\r\nThis project has made a world of difference for our reluctant readers.
