I am requesting special seating for my students because they have a difficult time sitting for periods of time. This seating will allow wiggle room while allowing them to be comfortable in the classroom. With the requested materials they will be able to sit longer, focus and learn math foundational skills which will prepare them for the real world. These skills will help them have a better understanding of economics.
These seats will allow their bodies to still move while their minds are still expanding.
I have recycled projector stands that works as stand up desk and make shift stools. My concern is safety. The stools I am requesting have backs to keep the students from falling. They sit on milk crates and carpet squares for the lower tables for the students who sit on the floor. Having the exercise balls and cushioned mats will not only allow for proper and comfortable seating it will also have the look and feel of the the 21st century classroom. Students function better with proper equipment.
I will integrate books with math that help them see characters who save, make smart spending choices, and help others through making donations. With your support my students will no longer fall of their milk crates.
