One special moment was when a typically shy student earned enough tickets to pick a snack for the first time—it was a real boost to their confidence and inspired the whole class to stay engaged and work hard.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, their excitement was contagious! The snacks instantly became a fun, tangible incentive that motivated them to put forth their best effort every day.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're building on this momentum by focusing on teamwork and responsibility through upcoming group projects. With your continued support, we plan to award tickets for effective collaboration and problem-solving. These supplies have been invaluable for projects that help my students express their emotions, practice empathy, and build problem-solving skills. One memorable project involved creating \"sensory bottles,\" where my students used materials like glue, feathers, beads, and glitter to make personalized bottles for their coping skills toolbox. As they worked, they discussed their emotions and described specific situations in which they might use these new coping strategies. This project not only fostered self-awareness but also allowed my students to better understand their peers' emotions, creating a more supportive group environment.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. The variety and quality of the supplies made them feel truly valued, and they eagerly dove into their projects with enthusiasm. They were especially drawn to the paints, canvases, and beads, which sparked their creativity and allowed them to express themselves in ways that went beyond the typical paper and pencil. It was amazing to see the shift in how they communicated their thoughts and feelings, not just through words, but through their artwork, fostering a sense of connection and support in and out of counseling sessions.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to explore SEL themes through creative art projects. By creating art together, my students will keep practicing cooperation and communication, while also building on their social-emotional skills. The materials you've provided have truly enhanced our ability to connect, express, and grow together in such a short amount of time this school year.
