Your kindness has made an immediate and meaningful impact on my students, and I am truly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nI am a special education teacher for students with autism ranging from Kindergarten through 4th grade. In our classroom, reading looks different for every child. Some students explore books independently by flipping through pages and studying pictures, while others engage through shared reading, listening to stories read aloud, or using visual supports to help them understand the text. For many of my students, books are not just about reading words—they are tools for building communication, expanding vocabulary, learning routines, and practicing focus and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nYour donated books have expanded our classroom library in a way that allows students to make choices, which is incredibly important for children with autism. Having access to engaging, age-appropriate, and visually interesting books has increased students' motivation and willingness to participate in reading time. Several students are especially enjoying the new books—some repeatedly select the same favorite stories, finding comfort in familiar characters and predictable patterns, while others are excitedly exploring new topics that align with their interests, such as animals, vehicles, or everyday routines. I've seen students request books using words, gestures, or communication devices, and others proudly sit and attend longer than ever before during read-aloud time.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, our classroom library is now a more inviting, calming, and enriching space. The books you provided are helping students develop a love of reading at their own pace and in ways that meet their individual needs. Your generosity is supporting not only literacy, but also confidence, independence, and joy in learning.\r\n\r\nMy 4th grade student has so much joy being able to take one of the books home as a reward for good behavior at the end of the day. My kindergarten student loves perusing through the books as he is just beginning to read but also loves flipping through the various books to look at the pictures. We have storytime every day during snack. Each day we choose one of the books to read and the class loves to listen to the stories.\r\n\r\nThank you again for thinking of our classroom and for making such a positive difference in the lives of my students. We appreciate you more than words can express.","fullyFundedDate":1760458473033,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-bright-minds-building-a-libra/9504528/","projectTitle":"Books for Bright Minds: Building a Library for Autism Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Goldman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10095938_orig.jpg?crop=1459,1459,x0,y1242&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753641646332","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10095938"},{"teacherId":4417905,"projectId":9029790,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your wonderful donations to our school.
