In our dual-language 3rd grade classroom, having a shared space where we can gather as a comunidad is essential, and this rug immediately became that anchor for us. The very first day we sat together, students whispered things like, \"¡Está bien chida, Ms.!\" and \"This makes our classroom feel so cozy!\" From that moment on, it became clear that this rug was going to transform the way we learn together.\r\n\r\nMy students now ask me every day if we can work on the rug. Whether it's partner reading, math talks, or small-group discussions, they are eager to sit together in that space. During whole-group explanations or when we watch educational videos on the Promethean board, the rug has completely changed the atmosphere, students are noticeably more enthusiastic, more focused, and more engaged. You can feel the excitement as they settle in, ready to learn, collaborate, and participate in both English and Spanish. The rug offers a sense of structure, comfort, and belonging that has been especially meaningful for my students who thrive with clear routines and a supportive environment.\r\n\r\nAs we continue with new lessons and upcoming projects, this rug will remain the heart of our classroom, a place where ideas grow, conversations in two languages come to life, and our community feels connected. Their faces light up every time they make something blink or react. Our next big step is creating The Reaction Game using the BitBoard and the LEGO baseplate. Students will get to combine coding, circuitry, and engineering design, which is exactly the kind of cross-curricular learning that helps them feel like real inventors. I have to try it out when students are not around so that I can see if it passes the smoke alarms. That would be too exciting! I know that once it's up and running, it will help us maintain better air quality, especially during STEAM activities that involve cardboard, paper dust, and other materials that can linger in the room.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include incorporating the purifier during our upcoming engineering and design cycles.
