We have begun the year with a knife safety lesson by cutting fruits! Students had the opportunity to cut cucumber slices, blueberries, strawberries, lemons, and limes. We then took the fruit and let it infuse in water all day. During snack time, students were able to try the different flavored fruit water! Students were so excited to see the colorful cutting boards and knives that we used for our first project, and how they matched the colors of the fruit they were cutting. \r\n\r\nThis Friday, we are having our second cooking day with a nursery rhyme breakfast! We will be using the mini-makers to cook eggs for \"Humpty Dumpty's Eggs\" and to make waffles for \"Fluffy Sheep Waffles\". The oven mitts we received will help us be prepared for hot tools and for learning how to be safe around cooking equipment. The donut maker and popcorn popper will be great additions to our five senses unit as we explore senses through cooking. The students are excited to use the air fryer, as we will be able to see inside as the food cooks through the clear glass screen. The supplies we received will enable us to expand our cooking lessons and have the needed materials ready to go in the classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1778227085942,"projectUrl":"project/cubby-cuisine-kindergarten-cooking/10267601/","projectTitle":"Cubby Cuisine: Kindergarten Cooking","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Runyan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7153886_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1786702962946","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7153886"},{"teacherId":5113430,"projectId":9844915,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity in providing these wonderful materials for our classroom.
