All these tools help us run a better lab and problem solve our equipment. In this age students do not get as much exposure to hands on work or machines so having them work with the machines one on one is important to me. Right now we are all going over the basics of the machines and the vocabulary. My 6th and 7th graders are all new to printing so we have a lot to learn. Next week my advanced printers return for after school and are excited to get to work. We love these 3D pens and it lets more students be involved when our 3D printers are all busy humming away. Students can use these pens independently and it also helps them understand some of the basics of how 3D printing works. They also are a great way for us to save on waste as when we only have a small amount of PLA plastic left we can use it in the pens instead of the machines. We do have a lot of wear and tear on these since they get used nearly every week day.
