One book in particular focused on a young girl and how she realizes that she needs to remain true to the person she is and how she felt so much happier when she did this. Because of the book, we had a great discussion of what things we like that makes us different and how our differences make us who we are as a person. \r\n\r\nFrom the discussion, students had to select 5 different \"rays\" or things that make their rainbow sparkle and put it on their picture. We will display pictures for everyone to see and for students to be proud of what makes them an individual. \r\n\r\nSeveral students enjoyed the book and liked that the main character of the book looked like them and had colorful hair like they want. We have had a great time looking though and reading these new books together.","fullyFundedDate":1733257433634,"projectUrl":"project/new-books-new-you/8833892/","projectTitle":"New Books New You","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Grimmett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5970404"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2992","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":111,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":59.6,"schoolId":2992,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Comfort Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Comfort Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/jones-county-school-district/comfort-elementary-school/2992"}
