Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in our classroom, and I am truly grateful for your investment in our students.\r\n\r\nThe ability to celebrate major wins—such as college acceptances, scholarships, academic success, and personal growth—has been incredibly impactful. Recognizing these moments has strengthened our classroom culture, boosted student confidence, and encouraged peers to support and uplift one another.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity shows our students that their goals matter and that there are people who believe in their potential. This sense of encouragement positively influences their mindset, work ethic, and overall well-being.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a space where students feel seen, celebrated, and inspired to strive for their best—every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1765307913736,"projectUrl":"project/celebrate-the-wins-2/9946949/","projectTitle":"Celebrate the Wins 2","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10110916_orig.jpg?crop=1186,1186,x0,y229&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754402474506","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10110916"},{"teacherId":2422018,"projectId":9394193,"letterContent":"My class and I thank you and sincerely appreciate your support of our classroom, as well as the disposable lab gloves you sent us. My student's approach to hands-on science has changed considerably already as a result of this simple yet essential tool.\r\nMy students had been looking forward to starting our unit on chemical reactions with a balloon-inflation lab as soon as the gloves came. Students trapped the carbon dioxide inside balloons by creating a gas-producing reaction using vinegar and baking soda. They were able to measure, pour, and combine items securely thanks to the gloves, particularly when handling the vinegar and fastening the balloons over the container's openings. This was the first time that many of my students had conducted a reaction in which they could observe chemistry in action right before their eyes.\r\nOne of the most fascinating situations was when a group thought their balloon would barely expand, but they were surprised by how quickly it expanded, and they shouted in celebration. Another student, who is usually timid to engage, took care of measuring the reactants since the gloves gave her a sense of security and control. That increase in confidence was brought about immediately by having the right resources.\r\nNext semester, we will continue to use the gloves during our biology labs to give the students the chance to work like real scientists. The gloves have increased their level of care and accuracy in every task, and they value the sense of competence they provide.\r\nYour generosity didn't just supply a box of gloves—It made science investigations more detailed, safer, and more interesting. Because of you, my students feel capable, seen, and supported.\r\nWe appreciate your support in creating engaging learning opportunities and your confidence in our classroom.\r\nAgain, thank you from my future high school scientists.","fullyFundedDate":1759181624997,"projectUrl":"project/safety-first/9394193/","projectTitle":"Safety First","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Grate","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2422018"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48723","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":877,"numTeachers":73,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":92,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.7,"schoolId":48723,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Columbia High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Columbia High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/dekalb-county-school-district/columbia-high-school/48723"}
