The students really enjoyed the story and for many it was their first experience with a true fantasy book. We read through it at the end of the school year and it was the perfect book to wind down their 7th grade experience. I am looking forward to doing a much more extensive unit with the book during the second quarter of this year and my new students are already excited and looking forward to it. The Hobbit is my favorite book of all time and I love being able to revisit it time and time again, share it with my students and use it as a vehicle to teach English concepts.
