The students were thrilled with the carpet and use it daily! They said it was very \"artistic\" and \"better than sitting at their desk!\". \r\n\r\nWhen the rug was set up in my classroom, students were able to gather in front of the Apple TV to see demos on how to create their artwork. It is a great space for my younger students to sit, while I read them a book about the particular artist we are learning about. So far, we have read \"The Art Teacher is Weird\", \"Tar Beach\", and \"Ablaze with Color\". This is also a space for students to calm down or sit independently after instruction. My kindergarten students utilize this space for center/building block time after completing their art assignment. \r\n\r\nHaving a carpet as a central location for instruction has not only increased student focus and involvement, but has helped with behavior management!
