Your support has made a world of difference in my classroom. The students were absolutely thrilled when they saw the snacks—what a joy it was to witness their excitement! Not only did the snacks bring big smiles, but they also provided much-needed fuel for their minds and bodies throughout the school day. With the new resources, we've been able to create a positive and enriching learning environment, where students feel supported, both academically and emotionally.\r\n\r\nIn December, the school organized a community outreach food donation drive, and the students actively contributed by bringing in donations. This was a meaningful way to highlight the importance of giving back. Sharing these contributions not only made the activity more impactful but also fostered a sense of connection and collaboration among the students. Later in the year, when we received snacks donated to our classroom, one student made a thoughtful connection, comparing the donors' generosity to their own role in the food drive. They realized that just like the donors who gave us snacks to help us feel more comfortable and engaged, they too were now able to give back to others in need. As they worked together to gather the food, they saw firsthand how their actions could positively impact others. This experience has inspired them to carry these lessons of empathy and generosity into our upcoming community outreach project, where they'll continue to serve as donors, making a difference in their local community\r\n\r\nYour donation is having a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for your continued support. Our school currently utilizes the free Open Sci Ed curriculum, which is web based and relies heavily upon slideshows and article handouts with very little opportunity for hands-on science exploration. The microscopes offer an exciting opportunity to view the physical world, literally through the lens of a scientist, rather than simply a YouTube video. The students have really enjoyed using them and have acquired a better understanding of how life exists on a molecular level that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The microscopes have definitely piqued interest in science and will contribute towards their success on the summative end-of-year 5th grade science assessment. Undoubtedly, your kind donation has expanded their understanding of the wonders of our natural world. Hopefully this exposure will inspire some of them to pursue STEM careers. At this point, the easiest books are the Minecraft graphic novels, which are more challenging than Wimpy Kid, and the students are beginning to explore the new library.
