They used the new materials to design bilingual children's books about child immigration—explaining the journey, the challenges, and where families can find support. This project gave them the tools to educate others and tell important stories through creativity and compassion. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new resources, they were amazed! Many of these materials were things they had never used before and wouldn't have had access to without your support. The excitement in the room was unforgettable—students immediately started brainstorming ideas and exploring ways to make their work more powerful and professional. \r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students were able to host an incredible exhibition to share their books with our school and community. It's an experience that will stay with them forever. Up next, we plan to continue using these tools to produce new digital storytelling projects that highlight other social issues they care about. Your generosity didn't just supply materials—it inspired lasting confidence, pride, and purpose in each of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1746786309658,"projectUrl":"project/libros-para-la-esperanza-childrens-boo/9178972/","projectTitle":"Libros para la Esperanza: Children’s Books for Unaccompanied Minors","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8943033_orig.jpg?crop=1240,1240,x0,y243&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1675880155649","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8943033"},{"teacherId":8267261,"projectId":9019711,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping create a more student voice and choice filled classroom. Your donations have allowed me to get many more books about the Holocaust to allow students to explore and chose a book that is more suited towards them. Students have participated in a \"book tasting\" where they looked at all the books provided in through this funding and at the end of the book tasting they all picked their own individual read. \r\n\r\nOnce all students got their independent read, we then embarked on a reading journey. Students would read in sections and then journal about their reading. We have then had student lead discussions where students connected their books to each other or ideas they already knew. Students communicated many things that inspired me on this reading journey. After each discussion, students reflected on the positivity of the conversation. One student said \"I got to learn about others books that helped me understand my book more\". These conversations have truly brought a new life to my classroom and the students.","fullyFundedDate":1735517974433,"projectUrl":"project/picturing-the-holocaust-through-stories/9019711/","projectTitle":"Picturing the Holocaust Through Stories","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valentino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8267261_orig.png?crop=808,808,x0,y118&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720475722817","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8267261"},{"teacherId":8267261,"projectId":9027055,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my class! Watching them during class time engage with their book in a detailed book study one hundred percent enhanced their learning experience in a positive way. They enjoyed every minute of reading their books and getting to understand the story of the Holocaust through the perspectives of others.
