For many of my students, math has always felt like an abstract series of rules to follow on a worksheet. Now, they walk into the room and immediately check the printer to see what is being created.\r\n\r\nI have been using the printer to create physical manipulatives that allow my students to get hands-on with the concepts we are studying. I've also started printing small fidget toys to use as incentives for participation and growth. Seeing a student's face light up when they earn a print for mastering a difficult algebraic concept has been a highlight of my year. One student recently told me, \"I didn't realize math could actually make something cool that I can keep.\"\r\n\r\nWhile the 3D printer provides the \"wow\" factor, the set of calculators you provided has provided the \"how.\" In a 9th-grade classroom, the gap in foundational arithmetic can often be a barrier to higher-level critical thinking. Because of your gift, every single student now has a dedicated calculator on their desk every day.\r\n\r\nThis has been a game-changer for independent work and assessments. Previously, students would have to share or wait for a turn, which often led to frustration and disengagement. Now, they can move past the hurdle of basic calculations and focus on the logic and design of the math problems at hand. It has created a level playing field where every student, regardless of their background, has the tools they need to succeed on their tests and daily assignments.\r\n\r\nYour donation has done more than just provide \"stuff\"; it has provided proof to my students that their education is worth investing in. You have helped me bridge the gap between \"math as a requirement\" and \"math as a tool for creation.\"\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for helping me make our classroom a space where they can see their ideas come to life, layer by layer.","fullyFundedDate":1768411049919,"projectUrl":"project/real-world-applications-of-math/10012755/","projectTitle":"Real World Applications of Math","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Furniss","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10402841"},{"teacherId":8186926,"projectId":9992110,"letterContent":"Our project has had a meaningful impact on student learning by helping them better understand the importance of safety, personal health, and growth. While many donors may use technology at home, in our classroom it is being used as a tool for education and self-awareness. Students are learning how to responsibly track their own health data, including monitoring their weight and reflecting on healthy habits. This process helps them connect physical activity, nutrition, and overall wellness in a way that is both practical and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for students is the ability to see their own progress over time. Using this technology, they can observe changes, set personal goals, and celebrate growth in a safe and supportive environment. Rather than focusing on comparison, the emphasis has been on individual improvement and understanding what it means to make healthy choices. This has encouraged students to become more health-conscious and take ownership of their well-being, which aligns with developing lifelong healthy habits.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously less engaged in physical education have especially benefited from this experience. They have become more confident and motivated as they begin to see small successes and improvements. By creating a positive and inclusive environment, students feel safe to participate, learn, and grow without fear of judgment. Overall, this project has helped foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and personal growth, supporting both the physical and emotional development of all students.","fullyFundedDate":1768084205233,"projectUrl":"project/safety-and-growth/9992110/","projectTitle":"Safety and Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8186926"},{"teacherId":10402266,"projectId":10010125,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your charitable donation to our classroom. The addition of a class iPad has opened up so many possibilities in our math classroom, both during lecture and to make any notes accessible to students who were not present. \r\nMy students very much appreciate being able to look back after a lesson and see exactly the work I did. This is especially helpful for students who miss class when they are sick or on a field trip, as they can see in my hand writing and style the exact work I did. This means students don't fall behind after missing class.\r\nAnother great way we have been using this iPad is by allowing students to do work for the class while still looking at their notes. I have a few kids in class who are nervous to get in front to write their work on the board, but now they are able to have the iPad at their desk and can reference their own work while doing it for the class. This had made the classroom feel much more accessible to all students. I am also able to be in the back of the class while helping a student and still have access to the board and able to continue notes or write anything I need.\r\nThank you again for your generosity. Our classroom is very grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1768276815161,"projectUrl":"project/bring-back-hand-written-math-but-make-i/10010125/","projectTitle":"Bring Back Hand-Written Math (But Make it Digital)","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Griffin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10402266"},{"teacherId":8137667,"projectId":10041599,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support!\r\nAs a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) working with children of all ages, many of whom are nonverbal or face significant challenges with communication and sensory processing, I see every day how much these amazing kids have to say and share. They just need the right tools to express their wants, needs, feelings, and ideas.\r\nThanks to your kindness, we will be able to provide interactive sensory toys such as bolts and puzzles, along with engaging repetitive books. The binding machine will allow us to create durable, interactive books that are far more robust than stapled sheets—perfect for encouraging prediction, participation, and joyful interaction during reading time.\r\nThese resources will help our students initiate requests, build social connections, regulate emotions during overwhelming moments, and participate more fully in learning. By giving them a voice and meaningful ways to interact, we're not only boosting their independence and confidence—we're unlocking future opportunities for growth and connection that will dramatically improve their quality of life.\r\nYour support means more than you know. Because of you, my students now have access to technology that is transforming the way they learn, explore, and express their understanding. Many of our donors may be familiar with using technology at home, but in the classroom, these tools allow students to engage in hands-on, interactive learning that simply wasn't possible before. With the new devices, they can collaborate on digital projects, access real-time resources, practice essential skills, and receive personalized feedback helping each of them grow at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in our classroom has been undeniable. Students race to start new interactive lessons, explore digital simulations, and create multimedia projects that showcase their creativity. For many, the most thrilling part is realizing that they now have access to the same kinds of tools used by professionals in fields like design, engineering, and media production. It has opened their eyes to future possibilities and made learning feel more relevant and empowering.\r\n\r\nWhat has been especially heartwarming is seeing how certain students who once struggled to engage are now thriving. One of my students, who is typically very quiet, has found his voice by creating digital presentations and sharing them with the class. Another student who often felt discouraged by traditional assignments has shown incredible confidence using interactive apps that break down skills step-by-step. These moments are a direct result of the technology you helped bring into our room.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is making a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of my students.
