The materials in this project fulfilled some very real needs for students in my classroom and elementary school! Students were excited to choose their own colorful hats and gloves when needed. This was particularly impactful for our students who walk to school and who wait out at the bus stop each day. Cozy socks in cheerful prints helped to keep feet warm, especially on snowy and wet walks to school. The underwear has been a lifesaver for students both in my own class and neighboring classrooms when accidents happen. We have been able to handle these instances quickly by providing students clean clothes so they can get back to learning.\r\nThe consumable supplies including tissues, hand soap, paper towels, and baby wipes have been an immense help in getting my students through cold/flu season. Without these restocked supplies, we would not have enough to make it through the end of the school year! On several occasions, the granola bars and applesauce have helped when students arrived too late for breakfast or just needed some extra food to get through the day.\r\nThe amount of hats, gloves, and socks received with this project will take us well into next winter. It feels great to be prepared to meet students' warmth/care needs both in my own classroom and in our elementary school at large. The rug is the focal point in our classroom and it is where Kindergarten students spend much of their day! Our new rug is indeed a colorful, comfy, and clean space where students do everything from listen to stories, participate in whole group lessons, build with blocks, and beyond! \r\n\r\nThe bright colors, pictures, and letters on the rug made my classroom a bright and inviting space for students on their very first day of Kindergarten. It helped to create a comfortable and cheerful physical space with enough room for each student to have their own spot. My students from this school year are used to this rug now because it's all that they've know in our classroom. When students from previous years stop by, they tell me how much they like it and even ask to come in and sit down because it looks so comfy!\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this wish a reality! I know this rug will be a central feature in my classroom for many years to come.
