Every day, students have dedicated time to read books they've chosen for themselves. I want them to discover that reading isn't just an academic exercise or something they're required to do for school. Along the way, they're building vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking, and empathy, often without even realizing how much they're learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest challenges in encouraging young readers is making sure they have access to books they actually want to read. Your donation has helped me put more choices into their hands. There's something wonderful about watching students browse new books, recommend titles to one another, or become so absorbed in a story that they don't want to put it down. The smart snacks are just as important, because it can be difficult for a student to concentrate when they are hungry.\r\n\r\nI love that this project supports my students in so many different ways. It isn't just about providing classroom supplies, it's about meeting students where they are and giving them what they need to feel comfortable, supported, and successful at school. These resources will be used and appreciated throughout the school year, and I am so thankful for the generosity that made this project possible.
