My project is to develop a "Counseling Corner" within my special education resource classroom. I envision this to be an area for one on one discussions, a place for students to de-escalate, or an area to read quietly when not otherwise in use. Since the beginning of Covid, we have seen an increase in frustration and anxiety levels in students. This area would provide educational materials as well as a place to retreat to when time is needed to process emotions and experiences. My goal is to make a "safe" space where students can receive support.
