Your support allowed students to engage in a powerful, hands-on learning experience that brought an important health topic to life in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nUsing the goggles, students were able to experience firsthand the disorienting effects of being under the influence. They participated in a simple obstacle course while classmates observed. What stood out most was that many students wearing the goggles insisted they were \"fine,\" while observers could clearly see hesitation, misjudged depth perception, and lack of awareness. This contrast sparked thoughtful discussion and helped students understand that even when someone feels okay, the reality may look very different to others.\r\n\r\nStudents also tested their fine motor skills using seek-and-find coloring pages, further reinforcing how impairment can impact coordination and attention to detail. These activities helped students build empathy, reflect on personal decision-making, and better understand how impairment affects both the individual and those around them.\r\n\r\nYour generosity made it possible for students to learn through experience rather than lecture, and the impact was immediate and lasting. Thank you for investing in our classroom and for helping make learning engaging, memorable, and meaningful.","fullyFundedDate":1763430472331,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-learning-the-dangers-of-impairm/9824193/","projectTitle":"Game On: Learning the Dangers of Impairment Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coronel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10055909_orig.png?crop=870,870,x133,y23&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749831068369","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mscoronelsclassroom"},{"teacherId":10055909,"projectId":9535180,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in providing our classroom with a 3D printer and filament. These items are more than just rewards as they help students stay focused, regulate their energy, and feel proud of something they created themselves. Engagement has noticeably increased, and students are excited to participate, collaborate, and problem-solve in new ways.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped foster a classroom culture where effort is celebrated and learning feels meaningful and fun. Because of your support, my students and I received a bean bag chair, kinetic sand, and calming strips, all of which have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom!\r\n\r\nThe bean bag chair has given students a much-needed choice in their seating, allowing them to feel more comfortable and in control of their learning environment. The kinetic sand was an immediate favorite as it has quickly become a tool students use to help themselves regulate and refocus. With the cleaning wipes, we've been able to keep our classroom neat and healthy, which helps everyone feel more comfortable and safe. And the calming strips have been especially appreciated, particularly now that phones are banned statewide, as they give students a positive outlet to manage their energy and emotions.\r\n\r\nThese resources have not only supported my students' academic focus, but also their emotional well-being, creating a more welcoming and balanced classroom community. It may seem like a small and simple item for an English classroom, but it has made such an impact on my students! They were so excited to be provided with a place to keep materials for class, and they have benefited immensely from learning to keep their papers and class materials organized. They have grown in their ability to be able to independently look back at their notes and resources when they need them, which is such an important skill for the future. \r\n\r\nThis project has allowed my students to become more independent in their learning. They can look back at previous papers whenever they need to, and they have a place to keep important reference sheets and resources. I know it may seem silly to some, but in a school district where most students can not provide their own supplies, these binders have allowed myself and my co-teacher to teach important organizational skills as well as encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning. We are not just teaching writing and literature in our class, we are teaching important skills and habits these students will need in the future, whether they choose to go on to college or decide to enter the workforce after graduation. \r\n\r\nThank you, thank you, thank you for your kindness and generosity!!!","fullyFundedDate":1733188380042,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-organized/8946638/","projectTitle":"Let's Get Organized!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Howard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839216"},{"teacherId":9805974,"projectId":8884544,"letterContent":"This gift has been cherished and treasured by our students beyond measure!
