One of our favorite moments was during a Creative Curriculum activity called \"Buried Treasure.\" We took the learning outside, where students explored a tub of sudsy water filled with hidden \"treasures\" like letters, sea creatures, and sensory toys float/sink. The excitement was immediate—students eagerly reached in, calling out what they discovered and making connections between the objects and what we've been learning in class. Being outside made the activity feel like a real adventure, and it encouraged curiosity, language development, and cooperative play.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of excitement and anticipation. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and questions. Some students were especially excited to share out familiar letters, while others were drawn to the textures and imaginative possibilities of the sea creatures and sensory items. It was wonderful to see every child find their own way to engage with the activity.\r\n\r\nNext, we will create pattern activities and sink/float activities using similar materials to strengthen early math and observation skills. These resources are helping us create meaningful, playful learning experiences, and we're excited to continue expanding on them.","fullyFundedDate":1776962001399,"projectUrl":"project/little-explorers-sensory-play-outdoors/10195731/","projectTitle":"Little Explorers: Sensory Play Outdoors Exploration!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nakaji","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8501188"},{"teacherId":2722915,"projectId":9179612,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest and most sincere thanks to you for your incredible generosity in providing scientific equipment for our kindergarten classroom here in Los Angeles.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our young learners now have the opportunity to explore, question, and discover the world around them in ways that spark true excitement. From magnifying glasses to measuring tools and simple experiments, our classroom has come alive with curiosity. Seeing their eyes light up as they observe insects, test what floats or sinks, or simply explore nature up close has been nothing short of magical.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just donate equipment—you invested in wonder. You showed our students that science is for everyone, including them, and that their questions matter.
