I find it is best for students to make real life connections with engineering, as it is everywhere! We will use the STEM kit and the rubber band kit and have partnerships engineer a new mode of transportation.\r\n\r\nWe need more supporters such as yourself. Your donations have brought so much joy and excitement to our classroom, and we're already putting the new materials to great use.\r\n\r\nOne of the first resources we used was Explode the Code, and it has been a game changer for my first and second grade special education students. This structured, multi-sensory phonics program is exactly what my early readers need. Many of my students are learning their letters and sounds, and Explode the Code provides the perfect blend of direct instruction and engaging practice. One of my students beamed with pride when he completed a page independently and exclaimed, \"I can read this all by myself!\" Moments like that are priceless—and made possible by you.\r\n\r\nWe also received a marble run, which was an instant hit! The students' faces lit up when they first saw it, and they couldn't wait to get building. The marble run has not only brought fun into our classroom but has also become a powerful tool for developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and basic concepts in physics. It's been wonderful to watch the students collaborate, test ideas, and make adjustments as they explore how gravity and motion work through play.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're continuing to build on early literacy skills through daily Explode the Code lessons, and it's incredible to see how much progress the students are making. We're also planning to extend our use of the marble run into simple STEM challenges where students will be tasked with building the longest or fastest marble path. It's learning through discovery, and they're all in!\r\n\r\nThank you again for bringing these resources into our classroom.
