The kids are very excited to have more comfortable chairs to sit in. In our classroom we have a variety of seats, low tables, lap desks, high tables, couch, moon chairs, and traditional tables and chairs. Every day six students sit at our table tables. They previously were sitting on basic stools with no backs on them. The kids were constantly leaning backwards on the stools and tipping over and falling on the ground. Kids were also complaining of backaches due to the stools having no back support. The students now have a place to sit that is safe and comfortable while they are sitting at our high top tables. These new chairs will not tip over the way the old stools did. These new stools also give the kids back support while they sit in them all day. Thank you, again, for your donation that helped us receive these new stools.","fullyFundedDate":1760105010806,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-floor-and-group-seating/9730011/","projectTitle":"Classroom Floor and Group Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stoufer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5983148_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1548097024711","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5983148"},{"teacherId":5983148,"projectId":9405044,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation towards new books for our 3rd grade classroom. A student that seems to not link to read, possibly just hasn't found the right book series. May times I have seen a child struggle with their reading and just plain not enjoy it. Then they find a book series that they really like and they become a reading machines. Because of you, our classroom now has a 3D printer and filament—tools that are already transforming how students learn and see themselves as scientists and engineers. Your support has given them more than materials; you've given them opportunities and confidence.\r\n\r\nMy students are naturally curious, creative, and determined problem-solvers. Many of them come in before school and stay after for Science Olympiad, eager to design, test, and improve their ideas. With the 3D printer, they can turn those ideas into real, tangible models—prototypes for engineering challenges, custom lab tools, and visual models of cells and molecules. Learning by doing has made science feel more real and more meaningful for them.\r\n\r\nStudents are learning to design thoughtfully, troubleshoot mistakes, and persevere through revision. Watching their digital designs become physical objects is powerful. That moment of \"I made this\" builds confidence, especially for students who don't always shine with textbook learning. The printer opens doors for different kinds of thinkers to succeed and feel proud of their work.\r\n\r\nYour support is also helping students imagine futures in STEM. They're asking questions about engineering, design, and how real-world problems are solved. As they solve problems, practice math facts, or work through lessons, the gentle movement of the wiggle boards allows them to shift their weight and move naturally without disrupting others. This movement helps students release extra energy while keeping their attention on the task, making it easier for them to concentrate during independent work and teacher instruction.\r\n\r\nThe wiggle boards also support different learning styles by giving students a way to stay physically active while thinking through math concepts. Students often rock, twist, or balance as they explain their reasoning, work with manipulatives, or collaborate with classmates. By combining movement with learning, the stand desks and wiggle boards create a positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable, focused, and ready to engage in math.","fullyFundedDate":1760446932472,"projectUrl":"project/wiggle-while-we-work/9740350/","projectTitle":"Wiggle While We Work","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mehling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9849840_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732752031562","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9849840"},{"teacherId":9025079,"projectId":9483492,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our \"Microscopes & Mindfulness: Zooming In on Student Success\" project. The first time they saw the microscopes, they couldn't wait to start investigating—gathering classroom items, leaves, and even strands of their own hair to see what they looked like up close. Their excitement was contagious, and the room buzzed with discovery.\r\n\r\nEven though the microscopes aren't part of our formal science unit, they've quickly become one of the most popular tools in the classroom. Whenever students finish their work, they head straight for the microscopes instead of their computers. I love watching them choose curiosity over screen time. They're zooming in on tiny details, asking questions, and seeing everyday objects in a completely new way. It's amazing how something as simple as a leaf under a lens can lead to ten minutes of focused exploration and wonder.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students are learning that science isn't just something we study, it's something we do.
