My writers are of all walks of life, abilities, and special needs. However, I can say that each and every one is a growing, budding writer. I am so proud of their efforts and growth. I am currently trying to keep the love of writing growing, while preparing my writers for the rigor that awaits them on their upcoming M-Step. Both are challenging to cultivate, but very important! Writing is a beautiful tool that needs sharpening at every stage of life. I want my writers to learn to express themselves articulately and smartly in a vast variety of genres. I am blessed to work in a school that believes in developing talented writers. The need is so great and the help is limited, that I feel that adding 10 chromebooks, in addition to my 3 classroom computers, will significantly help my writers. The reason for this is because they need the opportunity to type their final published pieces as well as to practice their typing skills. According to the CCSS my writers are to type their final drafts.
