I asked for these books for my new group of 22 third-grade students, who came into the school year so eager and ready to learn. I am so excited to take this group on their reading journey this year! Each student has their own book bucket, where they can choose books from our classroom library to keep in their bucket and read during our Time-in-Text. They are always looking forward to this special time to read and enjoy their stories.\r\n\r\nSo far, the fan favorites have been Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Bad Guys series, and the I Survived books. These books are helping students build their reading fluency, comprehension, and love for reading. Having books that they are genuinely excited about encourages them to spend more time reading and helps make reading feel fun and enjoyable.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, I can continue contributing to my students' love of reading while also helping them work toward their third-grade reading fluency goals. On the last day of school, I read them the personal notes I had written for each of them, and we also watched The Wild Robot together. It was such a bittersweet moment. I was so proud of them for completing the school year, but at the same time, I was so sad to see them go. I wish these students nothing but the best throughout their educational journey, and I was so happy to hear how excited they were when they received their own books and told me they couldn't wait to read them over the summer. My students are using the new resources during individual counseling sessions, small groups, and classroom-based activities to practice identifying emotions, developing coping skills, and building positive relationships. One of the most exciting moments has been watching students become genuinely engaged with the materials (they especially love the dollhouse) and are eager to participate. Resources that make counseling interactive and hands-on have helped students feel more comfortable opening up, practicing new skills, and recognizing that their emotional well-being is an important part of their success at school.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, many were immediately curious and excited to explore them. They enjoyed having tangible, engaging tools that made conversations about emotions feel less intimidating and more fun. Moving forward, we will continue incorporating these resources into our social-emotional lessons and counseling sessions, with a focus on helping students apply the skills they learn to real life situations. Thank you for investing in my students and giving them resources that help create a safe, supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1774035367558,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-heal-through-play/10069248/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Heal Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Victoria","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10421996"},{"teacherId":9402911,"projectId":9229704,"letterContent":"Thank you again for supporting our volleyball season! The new equipment and supplies made such a huge difference for our students and allowed them to fully participate, practice, and grow throughout the season.\r\n\r\nFrom the very first day the students saw the new volleyballs and supplies, they were excited and motivated. Many of them immediately wanted to practice skills, set up drills, and work together as a team. It created a sense of pride and excitement that carried throughout the season.\r\n\r\nWe used the new resources daily during practices, skill-building activities, conditioning, and games. One of the best moments was watching students encourage each other during team drills and celebrate improvements in serving, passing, and communication. The equipment helped practices run more smoothly and gave students the opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.\r\n\r\nAs we continue moving forward, students are continuing to strengthen their volleyball fundamentals while also learning leadership, responsibility, and perseverance both on and off the court. Your generosity helped create meaningful experiences and memories that our students will carry with them long after the season ends. The headphones are used in our calm corner, or during independent practice, where students can listen to calming music and take short breaks when they feel overwhelmed. Some students even ask to use these headphones to listen to calming audiobooks during their independent reading time. I've noticed that students who sometimes struggle to stay focused or manage big feelings have really benefited, as they are now able to calm down and come back ready to learn and participate.
