The mouse robots have been a hit. They are having a great time as they are learning to code. For my students who are only 4-5 years old, this is the first step to coding. They are getting the basis of what coding is all about. They are telling the mouse how to move from one point to another. \r\n\r\nInstead of coding algorithms, they are using basic directional buttons and turn buttons to guide their robot to the designated space. The new materials, including the whiteboards, erasers, dot markers, and styluses, have made such a big difference in our classroom. \r\n\r\nThe styluses, in particular, have been a game-changer for using the Skies app on our iPads. Instead of using their fingers, my students can now annotate their math and ELA activities with more precision. For example, during a math lesson, they practiced forming numbers and solving simple equations directly on their digital whiteboards. Watching their excitement as they used the styluses for the first time was priceless—they were so proud of how neat their work looked! \r\n\r\nThe dot markers have also been a big hit! We recently used them in a phonics activity where students stamped the letters. It was so engaging that even my reluctant learners were eager to participate. \r\n\r\nOne moment that stood out was during a collaborative Skies project. Students used their whiteboards to brainstorm ideas and the iPads with styluses to write their numbers. \r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the next steps are to use these tools for a science project about the life cycle of plants. Students will use the styluses to draw and label their observations and the whiteboards to draft their ideas before finalizing them in Skies. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly brought joy and learning to our classroom.
