Students didn't have many materials to build things with, so getting them super engaged was tough, but we made do with what we had. \r\nThings for this project came here and there, which made it all the better when we opened the packages. I picked certain students to be able to open the packages each week. For each thing, they were so excited to be able to use. \r\nThey most excited for the Legos and the magnetic tiles, to build and make creations on their own. Because I teach Pre-kindergarten up to fifth grade daily, I am now able to transport what I need for all of the children in different grades. We were so excited to unbox our new items and add them to our math shelf. Most students were immediately drawn to the multiplication wheels. They have been a fun way for students to independently practice the facts they worked hard to learn this year. Another group of kids enjoyed digging into the Math for Love fact sets. They enjoyed organizing the cards by all different factors - colors, patterns, answers, and more! Finally, all students are enjoying the Splash! math fact games. Students can differentiate for themselves by choosing the operation they feel they need to practice. The jellyfish lamp is also incredibly popular. Students can take calming breaths as the fish move around the tank and the colors pulse.
