My students and I started reading out our motivational posters every week to inspire each other in doing better in our classroom and at school. Creating such a positive and comfortable space for my small groups and my students truly makes a difference with their motivation in staying positive at school. Most of my students struggle with positivity and just having posters up as a reminder everyday, helps! \r\nI have even based some of the motivational posters like; \"progress not perfection\" and \"Be Kind Always\" -on social-emotional lessons that were needed to be implemented some weeks in my classroom! Some students were showing frustration with academics, so when I pointed to the poster \"Progress not perfection\" and explained what that meant, students were able to understand that as long as they were trying their best, they were doing it right!\r\nWe also had to do a kindness lesson one week as well and having the \"Be kind always\" poster creates a daily reminder for some students!\r\nNext steps are to continue using the posters to create a daily motivational mini lesson and remind students of these affirmations.","fullyFundedDate":1732233592224,"projectUrl":"project/inviting-classroom/8710714/","projectTitle":"Inviting Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nerissa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8047889_orig.jpg?crop=459,459,x138,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630878116129","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8047889"},{"teacherId":8047889,"projectId":8692522,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous donations!! My students love their personal pencil sharpeners! Not only does it save time in our classroom but it teaches my students to be independent and responsible for their items. They are able to clean them out on their own and use it when needed (instead of standing in line for the pencil sharpener and missing small group time!). My students love that they can call it their own!! My students were so excited when they saw there were enough for everyone to have one for themselves for small group time!\r\n\r\nWe also loved the books \"The day you begin\" and \"Round is a tortilla\"! My students love that they are available for them to look through and read during independent reading time as well as having it during read aloud time. they loved that in these books, they were able to connect to the characters and the book! One student even said , \"I have never read a book with a tortilla on the front! I love toritillas!\". We are so grateful that we are given this opportunity to be gifted such amazing gifts for our classroom! Thank you again for everything !!\r\n\r\nOur next step will be to write some book reports on what we think of current books we are reading!
