These hands-on math materials will allow students to learn math in a fun and interactive way along with the use of technology. In addition, it will allow parents as well as myself to model building on basic first grade math skills. It is at great value to connect and teach parents how to help their child at home by using these quality math materials. Students will keep some of their own materials at home to help them understand math concepts, facilitate homework, and use technology. The math manipulative materials will allow students to play games with their families and make real life math connections. Parents will be able to provide for their children with quality hands-on math materials to create a basic knowledge of number sense. In addition, the manipulative tools will ensure that all my students from low income households succeed by creating productive playing math games and activities to increase their knowledge for basic math concepts in the classroom as well. I believe that students with the right resources and support systems can succeed even if they are living in poverty. Help me encourage and inspire my class to have a passion for math in a fun, differentiated, and interactive way create pathways for students to be successful into adulthood. Students will learn how to negotiate life both inside and outside of the classroom.
