Students use headphones to listen to audio books, do online lessons and for state testing. While they aren't used everyday, they are used multiple times a week. We have a math program that gives them lessons based on what skills they need. This is much needed individualized instruction for them that helps fills in any missing gaps in math. In order to do these lessons, they need the headphones to watch the videos and listen to instruction. \r\n\r\nDuring free reading time, students have the opportunity to listen to audiobooks. This is a great option for my struggling readers. Having headphones let's them do that. \r\n\r\nFinally, we do state benchmark testing 3 times a year on the computer that requires the use of headphones. Kids can be really hard on things and many have broken, so having these headphones is a huge help. My entire grade loved using the frisbees, hula-hoops, and bowling ball set at recess. It was nice to give them different options of things to do at recess. We have such a small playground with very few things for the students to do. The balls were used all year and the students had such a great time playing with them and learning how to take turns and share as they played together. \r\n\r\nWe especially loved having some new headphones. The students take care of them as much as 5 and 6 year old kids can, but we always have to replace headphones throughout the school year. It was nice having a back up of some to pull from.
