My students would greatly benefit from this bit of technology in our classroom. Teachers who have used the Apple TV connection have seen added engagement and enthusiasm in their class as they experience new ways to learn. Apple TV and an Apple iPad will enable me to move freely around the classroom as I teach so I can encourage, engage, and individualize instruction, as well as independent work. In our 2nd grade classroom we use programs such as 95% Core Phonics and iReady Math which include slides that are very useful in both instruction and independent student work. However, I have found it very difficult to maneuver changing the slides, instructing at the projection screen and attending individually to the students all at the same time because I am currently tethered to my desktop computer where all of the manipulation of the slide content takes place. One needs to grow a couple of extra, extremely long, arms in order to accomplish these tasks. However, The Apple TV will allow me to connect to the Apple ipad which can be easily portable. With this system, I will be able to walk from student to student while projecting, teaching, and advancing slides remotely. I will be able to assist the student who just came to our country and doesn't know English, the students who have a hard time focusing their attention, the students who need assistance in reading the content, the students who need some encouragement to keep trying, the students who would benefit from an extra challenge, as well as the student who is having a bad day and just needs to know that his teacher really cares. There are tremendous learning opportunities ahead for my 2nd graders with this Apple system. Thank you for considering our request.
