They were surprised about how much they now have to work with when creating interesting projects/activities for the student body! In previous years due to limited funding and supplies, our students did not have much options when deciding what activities to do. Now we have more appealing materials to use and give to the whole student body. \r\n\r\nOn November 13 for World Kindness Day, students got to spin a big wheel and then answer a question about kindness. For their participation, students then got to choose either a bookmark or sticker with an inspirational message. The bookmarks and stickers were donated through Donors Choose. Wtihout the stickers and bookmarks, it's highly likely that there would not have been as much students drawn to the tables to participate. This is turn would have resulted in less students reflecting on kindness and increasing their awareness on the impact that kindness has on others!\r\n\r\nSoon we will start working on planning for Hope Week and Day of Hope which are opportunities for our Hope Squad to increases awareness about mental health struggles and suicide prevention in school and the community. The activities will focus on a combination of hope, unity, kindness, inclusion, suicide prevention and anti-bullying. We likely will be using a large amount of donated materials as we plan on doing a daily activity each day of Hope Week.\r\n\r\nThe Castleberry High Hope Squad realizes that each of you could have chosen other projects to donate to - we appreciate that you chose us to invest in!
