Opening the box when it arrived was like celebrating a HUGE holiday. No sooner were they out of the box than small hands were turning pages to check them out. It is wonderful that students are able to \"see\" themselves when we read them. \r\nThe student's favorite was Island Born. I have a very diverse classroom and they love to read books that are about places one or more of them are actually from. I loved the book Big. It is so important for the students to know their own self-worth and understand the impact other's words has on that.
