We have set aside several headphones specifically for our assemblies and celebrations in the gym. During these events of cheering, singing, and dancing, children can ask for headphones or be offered headphones when they seem too stimulated by the fun. This supports our students with being able to remain included in the events. \r\n\r\nSeveral of the headphones have been provided to specific students who experience noise sensitivity in everyday learning. Classrooms can be quiet during testing and independent work, but they can also be noisy during activities, group work, movement breaks, and whole group discussions. Having the option to put their own personal headphones at any time empowers the children to independently address their own needs and continue learning. \r\n\r\nAnother way that having access to multiple noise cancelling headphone sets have supported our students is by them being available to any student who needs them, not just certain special education students.
