I am building a social emotional learning program from the ground up. This district has never had an elementary counselor before and with that, I have no curriculum or budget to purchase anything. I am especially excited to start working with students of such a young age, I believe if we can teach emotional intelligence, resiliency, and healthy coping mechanisms at a young age, this will help our young students develop a growth mindset and have positive outlook on life. Help me build these students up in the 3rd (Love and belonging) and 4th (Esteem) steps of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs so they can get to the last step of self-actualization and flourish as positive contributing members of society and realize their high value in this world.
