When the supplies arrived, I shared with my students that these resources - from the binders that keep them organized to the Takis that keep them motivated - were made possible by generous donors from around the world. Each item was a gift from everyday people and matching donors who believed in creating a classroom primed for success.\r\n\r\nAs this is my second year in this classroom, I've seen the impact firsthand. Older students often stop by and marvel at the transformation, saying, \"Wow, we didn't have that!\" Other teachers walk in and comment on how welcoming and inspiring the space feels, and this is thanks to you! Every day, we reap the benefits of your kind and open hearts. You've given my students not just supplies, but a sense of belonging and excitement for learning. Thank you for believing in them and in the power of education.","fullyFundedDate":1755713309024,"projectUrl":"project/all-about-algebra-preparing-students-t/9600820/","projectTitle":"All About Algebra - Preparing Students to Face Their Fears!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Joi Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9780042_orig.jpg?crop=1185,1185,x113,y227&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755267178641","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msjoimitchell"},{"teacherId":10256425,"projectId":9708196,"letterContent":"Thank you so much again for donating to my Hispanic Heritage Poetry Contest that was held earlier this month. Students worked in small groups of their choosing to discuss the novel and think of ways to persuade their classmates to read them. \r\n\r\nAt the end of the year, each student created a resume that highlighted their interests, skills, and lessons they've learned over the year. Many students wrote in the beginning of the year that they didn't enjoy reading, but by the end of the year, every student had at least one text that they loved! Every student was able to think of one novel that they would persuade other teachers to teach, and we had lively discussion about which texts they preferred. \r\n\r\nThis project highlighted my students' voices and their creativity. While some students still struggle with reading, they've left the class knowing their are books out there that speak to them.
