Through the donations I was able to successfully start my classroom year off with materials that supported our children's growth and development.\r\n\r\nWhen the students came in the first few weeks they were surprised to the materials that they had available to them that would support their creativity and imagination. From day one they began learning how to use the materials appropriately and worked on developing skills such as fine motor with writing (name writing, visual arts, creating books), language development, cognitive development (problem solving), story telling (literacy), and much more. \r\n\r\nOne of my favorite activities yet was probably the book making experience that we had. The children created the cover of the story, wrote their name, built their book then illustrated the pages. Once the pages were illustrated I dictated the words for them helping them write to create the book. The books are displayed in our classroom. Each book with its own theme. This activity alone supports so many learning experiences. \r\n\r\n Our program serves at risk, low income families. Through the donations made I was able to successfully replenish our project materials, art materials, and more to support student success within our community. I have always said that it takes a village. That village includes the community and those who serve in it. From my heart to yours thank you so much for contributing to supporting the growth, development, and future success of these students.","fullyFundedDate":1753133943797,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-replenish-project-for-2025/9254121/","projectTitle":"Classroom Replenish Project for 2025","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Robertson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9998121_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y563&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744397312619","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9998121"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1780","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":494,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.9,"schoolId":1780,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cape Fear Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cape Fear Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/pender-county-school-district/cape-fear-elementary-school/1780"}
