Your generosity is giving our students more opportunities to move, play, explore, and learn together.\r\n\r\nFor first graders, play is learning. At this age, children learn through movement, hands-on experiences, exploration, and social interaction. Outdoor play allows them to practice skills that reach far beyond the playground. As they run, jump, balance, throw, catch, and work together, they are developing coordination, problem-solving skills, communication, cooperation, perseverance, and confidence.\r\n\r\nThese new materials will help make our outdoor time purposeful and engaging. Students will have opportunities to be active while also learning about concepts such as movement, force, balance, space, measurement, and teamwork. Just as importantly, they will learn how to take turns, encourage one another, solve disagreements, and be part of a team.\r\n\r\nYour support also means so much because our school has been working to rebuild outdoor opportunities after a tornado damaged part of our playground. These resources help restore some of the opportunities our students lost and give them a safe, exciting way to be active and connected.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your generosity doesn't end when recess is over. When children have opportunities to release energy, build friendships, and engage in meaningful play, they return to the classroom more ready to learn, focus, and participate.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that children learn through play and for investing in our students' health, learning, confidence, and happiness. You are helping make our outdoor space a place where first graders can move, discover, cooperate, and grow every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1788005041242,"projectUrl":"project/outdoor-learning/10548048/","projectTitle":"Outdoor Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sparks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10632440"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_86222","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":155,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":22,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":18,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":86222,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Caney Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Caney Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/caney-school-district-26/caney-elementary-school/86222"}
