I am requesting flexible seating, new books, headphones and a few extra resources for my students. Growing up, I always enjoyed going to the library, finding a comfortable seat and getting lost in a book. I am wanting to make that possible for my students. With books, the possibilities of where your mind can take you is endless. These books will help fill my classroom library for my students to enjoy while the flexible seating will give them a comfortable place to sit and enjoy reading. I have chosen books of different levels with all of my students interests in mind. I specifically need lower level books to help my students who are not reading on grade level, so they can enjoy reading without becoming frustrated with the difficult text. Once my students have books their level that they can read, they will become more confident in their reading and work towards closing the gap. To help with that, I am also wanting to create an environment for my students to enjoy their reading time. I want them to be able to forget about what is going on outside the classroom. After sitting all morning, my students start to get squirmy. With flexible seating, my students will be able to relax and sit comfortably while they escape in their books and grow a love for reading that will follow them for the rest of their lives. I am also asking for a few other resources for my classroom to help my students with their learning. These items are personal headphones to go with their iPads, offices so they don't have to worry about others copying their hard work and dry erase boards to help them with math and writing.
