When the materials arrived, my students were excited and ready to dive in. Several students who are usually resistant to slow down were ended up being absorbed in building and creating. It was a excellent reminder of how much they benefit from having meaningful, hands-on materials that invite both creativity and focus.\r\nWe are already using these resources in our weekly solo time routine. Students are incorporating watercolor painting into reflection time, using kinetic sand and Play-Doh to decompress and reset, and challenging themselves with logic puzzles and building activities. These materials have helped create a calm, purposeful environment that supports independence and aligns beautifully with our Montessori approach. My students are not only enjoying these activities, but they are also building important skills like self-regulation and creative expression.\r\nAs we continue, even more students will be using these materials to practice slowing down and self regulation.
